System Diagrams

Below are the internal system diagrams of the product:

Microcontroller Logic

This is the logic diagram for the microcontroller, and all its outputs to the LCD Screen and the physical components. This would run as code in the actual product, but this would vary depending on what components were used. The logic first deals with the heating unit: whether it is currently needed and whether it is currently on. It then checks the reservoir water levels, and then checks the temperature on each side, before looping every 10 seconds to save energy.

Internal Electronics
(Schematic)

This is the schematic for all the internal electronics. The logic diagram on the right would run as code on the microcontroller shown, to process the data, run the electronics and output data onto the LCD screen. Below, you can see an example of what the LCD could look like. We have used symbols wherever possible to make sure as many people as possible can read and understand the data, especially as this may be used by people from many different cultures. However, it still outputs more than enough data for system diagnostics.

Peltier Unit

(Explanation)

The Peltier Unit uses the Peltier effect to heat and cool the water. The Peltier effect is a thermoelectric occurence where the transfer of heat happens between two materials when there is an electric current passed through the materials.
